ištaminl(i)-
‘family (member)’1.1.1Transmission
This lexeme is found in an inscription from Sardis that has not been dated accurately, as well as in a new inscription from Kelainai, which appears to be a decree. The latter is dated tentatively to the late 6th-early 5th century BCE (Adiego & Ivantchik 2016a).

1.1.4Meaning
Meriggi 1935a:103 suggests on contextual grounds that ištaminl(i)- means ‘family’: At the beginning of LW 13, ištaminl(i)- is coordinated with the author of the inscription speaking in the first person singular, and all of them together perform an action on their property, i.e. amu=k nãši(š)=k ẽmiš ištaminliš wstaas ‘both me and any living family member’. Further in the poetical inscription, ištaminl(i)- occurs together again with qira- ‘property’ in ištaminlaν qiraaλ ‘family property’ (ištaminlaν here recognized as “gen. pl.” by Carruba 1960a:49 n. 30). His semantic assignment has been accepted (sometimes with question marks) by Gusmani 1964a:137f., Gérard 2005a:128, Adiego & Ivantchik 2016a:295, Sasseville 2021a:244.

1.1.5Stem
The lexeme ištaminl(i)- can be interpreted as the substantivized genitival adjective of ištamin-. Only the derivative ištaminl(i)- is likely to mean ‘family’.
