‘(unknown)’1.1.1Transmission
This lexeme is found on a stele that is difficult to date on contextual grounds, although the personal name xezixa- (= Gergis’ uncle?) appears multiple times. For the presupposed attestation on a coin, see Lyc. A esbe/i-.

1.1.2Forms
| case unclear | ]esehi | TL 65.17 (Isinda) |
| gen. adj. nom. sg. c. | ẹṣehi | TL 65.25 (Isinda) |
The second attestation speaks clearly for a genitival adjective.

1.1.3Meaning
In the first instance, the word appears to be the indirect object of the action performed by Xezixa, i.e. ]esehi za astti xezixa ‘Xezixa makes (repeatedly) dedications/allotments to the [ … ] of the ese’. In the second instance, it is the agent of a curse formula, i.e. me=i=ne=httemi tr[qqñtahi] se=qlahi ebijehi ddewezehi [.....]sehi trm͂mili esehi ‘if he does not… won’t there be the wrath of the St[orm-god] and the local precinct of ddeweze/i- [ … ] of the Lycian ese.’ No semantics have been suggested in Melchert (DLL:18), Neumann 2007a:77.
[D.S.]
1.1.4Stem
As per Melchert (DLL:18), the derivational base should be a noun *ese(/i)-, which might look like the adverb ese and the verbal form ese ‘he was’.
