1.1.3Graphic Features
Checked against the photographs in the Mainzer Fotoarchiv. – Starke 1985b:280 (based on Otten 1953a:48 and followed in CLL:84) reads ḫu-u-ịt-wa-la-a-ḫi-ša-ḫa! at KUB 35.133 ii 30’ and remarks that the last two signs are written above an erasure. However, they are clearly below the erasure, which corresponds to the fact that preceding annarumāḫi is likewise devoid of the secondary ending -ša. – The repeated omission of -ta- in the abl./instr. forms is remarkable.

1.1.4Meaning
In all its occurrences, the word forms a pair with ānnarummaḫi(t)- ‘strength’ in lists of blessings to be bestowed on the ritual patron. The meaning was elucidated by Otten 1953a:86 by means of the equivalence with Hitt. ḫuišwatar/TI-tar ‘life’, which is combined with innarawatar in parallel fashion (with the addition of ḫaddulatar ‘health’). The equation found general acceptance, see Kammenhuber 1959a:226f., DLL:47, Starke 1990a:166, HED H:354f., HEG A-K:264, CLL:84, Ünal 2007a:224, EDHIL:354f.

1.1.5Stem
It is immediately obvious that ḫuitwalaḫi(t)- ‘life’ is derived from ḫuitwal(i)- with the abstract suffix -aḫi(t)-, see already Otten 1953a:86f. and Kammenhuber 1959a:228, more recently e.g. Starke 1990a:166.
