kapsaqe-
‘(unknown)’1.1.1Transmission
This lexeme is found once in the poetical inscription engraved on the lion sarcophagus of Antiphellos, dated on stylistic grounds to the beginning of the 4th century BCE (Zahle 1979a:318, Mühlbauer 2007a:91).

1.1.2Forms
| acc. sg. | kapsaqẽ | TL 55.6 (Antiphellos) |
Differently, Schürr 2005a:140 suggests a genitival plural, which is formally possible, but syntactically unclear; cf. under Meaning.

1.1.3Meaning
The word kapsaqẽ is modified by the preceding adjective lbbeweli, a formation in -ele/i-, which confirms its common gender status. It also constitutes the direct object of the verb pina-(ti) ‘to grant’. Shevoroshkin 2002a:219, 223 very tentatively translates kapsaqe- as ‘spoils, war trophies’. No meaning is suggested by Gehrisch 2018a:108. In any case, the word kapsaqe- is clearly some kind of offering granted for a war:
seb(e)=erbḅi ḳm͂q̣i=ke : lbbeweli ) kapsaqẽ : pinau … (TL 55.6)
‘and for the war and the km̃qi I grant a lbbeweli kapsaqẽ…’
Without a solid etymology, the exact meaning remains obscure.
