1.1.2Forms
| dat./loc. pl. | kumalihe | TL 26.19 (Tlos) |
Differently, Neumann 2007a:175 suggests a genitive singular comparing terihe ‘third’. Differently, Melchert (DLL:33) building on a suggestion of Meriggi 1978c:258 parses kumalihe as dat./loc. pl. of a collective noun in -iha- comparing hriha and ñtuweriha (nom./acc. coll.).

1.1.3Meaning
Due to its obvious etymological connection with the kuma-words all referring to “sacrifice” and “holiness”, similar meanings have been suggested (Neumann 2007a:175 with further literature). However, due to the fragmentary obscure context, no meaning is suggested here.

1.1.4Stem
The base of the derivative kumaliha- could be a non-attested agent noun *kumala-; for which see Sasseville 2014-2015a. Differently, Melchert (DLL:33) reconstructs an adjective stem in -ele/i-, i.e. *kumele/i-. Until further evidence, both possibilities should remain open.
