‘(unknown)’1.1.1Transmission
This lexeme is found in the inscription of the inscribed pillar of Xanthos, dated contextually to shortly after the ascension of Artaxerxes II in 405-404 BCE and stylistically to around 400 BCE (Borchhardt & Eichner 1997-1999a:19f.).

1.1.2Forms
| unknown | neburẽni | TL 44d.56 (Xanthos) |
There are various grammatical ways to interpret the word neburẽni. The stem-final -ẽni could be taken as a nominal suffix -ẽne/i- in the nom., acc. or dat. sing., which would agree with atlasi ‘of his own’ (thus DLL:112). On the other hand, it could be a verbal form of the 3rd sg. medio-passive (thus Gehrisch 2018a:95Carruba 1968a:21 likewise saw a verbal form, although he assumed a 1st pl. pres., which is outdated, see Melchert 1992c.], which would find support in the fact that there is otherwise no apparent predicate in the sentence. However, considering that the meaning of the sentence is obscure, it is not possible to make a judicious decision for now. No interpretation is given by Neumann 2007a:237.

1.1.3Graphic Features
The segmentation of this word is debated: Eichner 2006a:234 n. 25 suggests a compound made of neb and burẽni, relating the first member to Lyc. B nbb and the second one to Lyc. B abura-. Schürr 2018b:66 on the other hand separates neburẽni in ne ‘not’ and burẽni, assuming an elided vowel, i.e. (a/e)burẽni, and comparing the sequence abur- or ebur- to the one in Lyc. ekebura-.

The meaning of the word neburẽni depends on its morphological and grammatical analysis, which is still unclear. No meaning is given by DLL:112 and Gehrisch 2018a:91.
