1.1.2Forms

nom. sg. c. ú-la-an-ti-iš KUB 35.45 ii 26 (CTH 760, NS)
  [ú]-˹la˺-an-ti-iš KUB 35.48 ii 20’ (CTH 760, NS)

The attestations follow CLL:250 (cf. also Laroche 1959a:104) checked against the photographs of the Konkordanz (restoration follows Starke 1985b:155 based on textual parallelism). As per Melchert, the fragmentary wa-la-an-ti[ in KUB 35.98, 11’.12’ may belong here (but separated by Laroche 1959a:105), the fragmentary context, however, does not allow any restoration.

1.1.3Meaning ‘dead’

Based on the context (this word is contrasted with ‘(the) living (one)’), there is a general and justified agreement that this word means ‘dead’ (Kammenhuber 1986a:89; CLL:250; Reichardt 1998a:134; Hutter 2003a:227, 261; Taracha 2009a:109; Sideltsev 2014a:859; Marcuson 2016a:383; Tischler 2016a:396; Ünal 2016a:973; except Laroche 1959a:104, who did not separate the meanings ‘dead’ and ‘death’ and Tischler 2008a:217 [‘Tod’], but cf. above).
