1.1.2Forms
| nom. sg. c. | šu-wa-a-ša-˹la-a˺-an-za | KUB 35.165 rev. 4’ | (CTH 751, OS or MS) |
| šu-wa-a[-ša-la-(a)-an-za] | KBo 53.301 4’ | (CTH 751, NS) |
The restoration of the word šu-wa-a[-ša-la-(a)-an-za] in KBo 53.301 4’ is based on the contextual comparison with the passage in KUB 35.165 rev. 4’-8’.

1.1.3Graphic Features
Checked against the photographs in the Konkordanz. Kammenhuber 1959a:25 opens the possibility of separating the word šuwāšalānza (KUB 35.165 rev. 4’) in two, i.e. šuwā + šalanza. This is in principle possible, but by no means necessary. Therefore, we remain with the interpretation as a single word; cf. CLuw. LÚšuwaššali-.

1.1.4Meaning
No meaning is offered by Kammenhuber 1959a:25 or by Carruba 1970a:71. It is worth comparing this word with the Luwian title LÚšuwaššali-, which designates a functionary. Since the Palaic context is fragmentary, it is impossible to verify whether Pal. šuwāšalānt- has anything to do with a functionary comparable to the Luwian one. Any connection with the verb šuwa- ‘to fill’ is possible but cannot be supported. Therefore, no semantic assignment is provided here.
