unknown ]ḫa-ni-i-ia-ti KUB 35.65 iii 23 (CTH 763, MS)

Attestation following CLL:51 checked against the photograph of the Konkordanz. Laroche 1959a:117 and Melchert assume an abl.-instr. form (Tischler 2008a:42, Tischler 2016a:64 adds a question mark), which is possible, but since the text is completely fragmentary, it is not possible to prove it and a verbal form (3rd sg. pres. act.) is equally possible.

1.1.3Meaning ‘(unknown)’

CLL:51 suggests ‘malicious’ (no meaning is given in Laroche 1959a:117 and Tischler 2008a:42, Tischler 2016a:64; not included in Ünal 2016a) calling attention to similar forms, the Glossenkeilwort Glossenkeilḫanḫaniya- ‘to be malicious’ and Hieroglyphic Luwian *hani(ya)- ‘malicious’. However, due to the fragmentary line it is unknown if we are dealing with the entire word and also the general context is unclear, thus its meaning cannot be established. Note that a verbal form is also possible, cf. under Form.
