1.1.4Meaning
The verb ḫaparī- is twice followed by the word ešḫa ‘blood’, which is surely its direct object.Carruba 1970a:54 compares Hitt. ḫappariye/a-(mi) ‘to deliver, to sell’, which does not contribute to the understanding of the context. The fragmentary state of the context makes a reliable interpretation difficult. However, ḫaparī- should be an action that is performed on blood after a ritual sacrifice.
