Due to the fragmentary state of the context and the lack of cognates, no semantic assignment can be offered; cf. Carruba 1970a:64. A possible etymological link to the verb *mai-/-iya-(i) ‘to grow’ is possible, but hardly provable based on the current state of the passage.
