nom. sg. aṣp̣luwaṣ LW 26.4 (Sardis)

If it is a nominative singular, the word aspluwas would occur in apposition to the name of the goddess Artemis (thus Gusmani 1964a:66, followed by Payne & Wintjes 2016a:97. An alternative analysis views it as an accusative plural and thus the direct object of the verb, which is not preserved.

[D.S.]

1.1.3Meaning

The context, in which the word aspluwas is found, is obscure and fragmentary. It appears to be a compound with as- as its first member (as in as-trko-) and pluwa- as second member. No meaning can be offered; cf. Gusmani 1964a:6.
