Checked against the photograph of the Konkordanz. We owe the reading and restoration of [ša]-˹a˺-pa-na-an to S. Görke.

1.1.4Meaning
The word šapanān is found in a fragmentary passage. It seems to be the head noun of the genitive ḫāranaš ‘eagle’. Carruba 1970a:69 (and Carruba 1972a:10) relates the word šapanān to Pal. šapawinai ‘he wipes off’ and translates it with ‘purification’, which does not contribute anything to the context. No semantic assignment is provided here.
