1.1.4Meaning
The word agaman is attested in a fragmentary passage and, thus, it meaning cannot be elucidated based on the context; cf. Carruba 1970a:49. Carruba 1972a:7 suggests that it is a participial form of a verb *aga- meaning ‘to go’ relating it to panāga- ´to depart´. However, this cannot be maintained based our morphological analysis; see under the lemma panāga-. No semantic assignment is offered here for agaman.

1.1.5Stem
The word agaman most likely represents a neuter stem in -man- (thus Kammenhuber 1959a:25). A different possibility would be an adjectival suffix in -ma-; cf. Melchert 1994a:214. A participial suffix in -mma- is only possible, if agaman stands for aga<m>man (pace Carruba 1972a:7). Any interpetation at this stage must be considered tentative and, thus, it is best ot leave the morphological interpreation of the word open.
