With only two Winkelhaken and a vertical wedge of the first sign after the break still visible, the reading of the form as suggested in DCL:s.v. is far from certain.

1.1.4Meaning

If the reading is correct, the word is one of the rare instances of a common gender stem in -aḫ(i)- (like ḫarmaḫ(i)-; see Sasseville 2021a:213). Melchert (ibid.) connects the word with Hitt. šariya- c. ‘line, row’ and proposes a tentative meaning ‘lineage (?)’. Besides the etymological argument, he points to the putative mention of a kinship term (šeš ‘brother’, but reading is unlikely) in the immediate context of the form under discussion and to []arduwattinzi šāriy[a-…] at KBo 29.49 rev.! 7 (containing ḫarduwatt(i)- ‘descendent’). In view of the uncertainties attached to every step of the analysis, no translation is attempted here.
