Attestation following CLL:281 checked against the photograph of the Konkordanz. CLL:281 segments za-ar-du-wa-ta and claims that this is a nom.-acc. pl. n. (booking the remaining part as the third person enclitic pronoun in nom.-acc. pl. n., with question mark). This solution is formally possible, but it is impossible to prove since its meaning is unknown, the context is broken (cf. below), and other solutions are equally possible (e.g. the entire string is a noun or a verb), not to mention that we do not know if we are dealing with the entire word. Tischler 2008a:232, Tischler 2016a:453 books it as an unclear form (falsely quoting it as “zarduwatt[a(-)”, although in Tischler 2016a:453 he books it as a possessive adjective *zarduwa(n)t(i)- as well, see under Meaning).

1.1.3Graphic Features
The second <ta> is clearly visible on the photograph (and accordingly appears also in the hand copy), contra Starke 1985b:256 (“t[a”).

1.1.4Meaning ‘(unknown)’
Its meaning is generally assumed to be unknown (CLL:281; Tischler 2008a:232, Tischler 2016a:453; not included in Laroche 1959a and Ünal 2016a). Nevertheless, CLL:281 segments za-ar-du-wa-ta and “tentatively” assumes a possessive adjective in -want(i)- to zārt- ‘heart’ with the loss of the nasal before the dental stop (followed by Tischler 2016a:453, but cf. above). Although such a solution is possible, it cannot be proven since the correct segmentation of za-ar-du-wa-ta-ta[(-) is unknown, its grammatical form is, accordingly, unknown and it is also unknown whether we are dealing with the entire word. The context is broken off both before and after this word, thus it cannot help.
