1.1.4Meaning
No translation was offered for a long time (DLL:80, CLL:170, HHw:125). Only recently, Oreshko 2020a:348 interpreted the word as the Luwian match of Hitt. parš(a)na- ‘thigh’, based on the co-occurrence with [pa-a-ta-a]n-ta ‘feet’ (as restored by Starke 1985b:226). The proposal must await further evidence to support it.

1.1.5Stem
Melchert (DCL:s.v.) assumes that paršandanza contains the suffix -ant(a)-, which builds neuter nouns (also seen in šaḫuitant(a)-).
[E.R.]
The word is now considered to be a ghostword, see CLuw. pārta(/i)-.
