Checked against the photographs in the Mainzer Fotoarchiv. – Outdated is the reading as uruša-a-la-pa[(-) in Otten 1953a:108.

1.1.4Meaning

The contexts of both attestations are extremely fragmentary. Therefore, the semantic assignment as ‘part of a harness’ (DLL:84, CLL:185, HHw:140, HEG Š:752f.) depends on that of Hitt. KUŠšāla-, which vacillates between ‘(part of harness)’ and ‘leather strap’ (see HEG Š:752f. and CHD Š:81f. for references). Further evidence is required for reaching a final decision.

1.1.5Stem

The form KUŠša-a-la in -a would speak for a thematic neuter stem, although a collective nom./acc. of a common gender noun (like Hitt. KUŠšāla-) cannot be entirely excluded.
