1.1.3Meaning ‘(unknown)’
CLL:268 sees a Luwian word *wāwi- ‘cow’ in it (with question mark; followed by Tischler 2008a:225, Tischler 2016a:435 [as ‘bull, cow’] and EDHIL:507 [adding that “the appurtenance to ‘cow’ is far from assured”]). However, the word is broken and the entire fragment contains only few signs (cf. below), thus the word cannot be identified at all. Moreover, a closer look upon the fragment reveals that not even its language can be determined (contra Starke 1985b and the Konkordanz) and its attribution to Cuneiform Luwian could be based only on the assumption that the sign sequence in 2’ of the right column belongs to this Luwian word, cf. already Otten 1953d:iii: “Stücke fraglicher Sprachzugehörigkeit” (the transcription follows Starke 1985b:416f.):
