Abandoning his earlier analysis, Hajnal 1997b:154–156 assumed that the word mδane in E.Sa 1, E.xx 7 and C.xx 2 consists of a particle chain *m-n- with a 3rd sg. pret. verb da- ‘to put, place’ (comparing it with Lyc. ta- ‘put, place’, similarly Tremblay 1998a:124) with enclitic pronouns. However, this is syntactically highly problematic (see the discussion in Simon 2020d:407) and phonologically not possible due to the initial voiced consonant. For more discussion see s.v. im(n)-.
