| acc. sg. (?) | KBo 64.183 rev. 6’ | (CTH 763, NS) |
After the alleged reading du-wa-du-na?-〈aš〉 at KUB 2.1 iv 33 had to be rejected (see under the Lemma duwatna-), and †duwaduna- ‘sink-hole’ vel sim. (Gordon 1967a:82, Archi 1975b:101, McMahon 1991a:113 n. 143, Ünal 2007a:746, HEG T:498 with references) turned out to be a ghost word,
du-wa-du-un[ is now without connection.
[E.R.]
1.1.3Graphic Features
Checked against the photographs in the Mainzer Fotoarchiv.
[E.R.]
1.1.4Meaning
Without the alleged evidence of †duwaduna-, a semantic interpretation of
du-wa-du-un[ remains impossible due to the fragmentary state of the tablet (see also CLL:239 not adopting a relation to Hitt. du(wa)ddu- ‘mercy’).
[E.R.]
1.1.5Origin
The word is listed in Rosenkranz 1950a:195, DLL:101 and CLL:239. Its gloss wedge marking makes a Luwian origin likely.
