1.1.2Forms

3sg. pres. ind. act. (?) ẹṣ?? TL 118.6 (Limyra)
3sg. pret. ind. act. (?) esde TL 118.4 (Limyra)

The grammatical analysis of these two occurrences as verbal forms is by no means assured. Both are found within clauses expressing prohibitions and are used with the word ?eunẽ ‘?’ (the reading of the first letter is not certain, see Christiansen 2020a:252 n. 340), which looks like a direct object (acc. sg.?). Thus, one could posit a verb es-(di). Both the lenited conjugation and the preservation of the sequence -sT- speak for the syncope of a stem vowel, i.e. *es-V-di > esdi. For parallel cases in which verbs of the lenited conjugation lose their stem vowel due to a late accent shift and syncope, see mrccdi and LycB. trbbdi.

1.1.4Meaning

No meaning can be convincingly suggested; cf. DLL:18, Neumann 2007a:75 and Gehrisch 2018a:157f. “to make”.
