‘(unknown)’1.1.1Transmission

1.1.2Forms
| nom./acc. pl. n. | ta!-ru-pí-ia-al-la | KBo 4.11 obv. 27 | (CTH 772, NS) |
Preceding the neuter nom./acc. pl. ašta, the word is probably an adjective modifying the noun and is hence in morphosyntactic agreement with it.

1.1.3Graphic Features
Checked against the photographs in the Mainzer Fotoarchiv. – The inscribed verticals of TA seem to cover the imprint of a wedge, but there is no reason to doubt the reading.

1.1.4Meaning
The only translation suggested so far is a tentative ‘generic (?)’ (Yakubovich 2017d:s.v.), probably on account of an assumed relationship with Hitt. tarupp-(mi) ‘to collect, unite’. Note, however, the spelling with a singleton -p-. Elsewhere, the word remained without interpretation (DLL:97, CLL:218, HHw:s.v., HEG T:241, but cited under tarupp-).

1.1.5Stem
Nothing precludes the assumption that the lexeme consists of a root *tarup- and the suffixes -iya- (nominal, perhaps forming a *tarupiya- c.) and adjectival -alla/i- (Yakubovich pers. comm.), but more evidence is needed for the identification of the root.
