The sole attestation of this verb occurs in the NS Lallupiya tablet of the Ištanuwa ritual.

1.1.4Meaning
The clause with an accusative object tarḫuntaššinza(=ti) [ ]-winza shows that dai- is a transitive verb. Note also the use of the reflexive particle =ti. However, the context is barely understood and does not help to elucidate its meaning (no translation offered in DLL:89, CLL:201, HHw:s.v.).

Although not provable without an etymology, its phonological shape strongly suggests a classification of dai- as a root verb.
