1.1.3Meaning
The interpretation of the word as a professional title is clear both from the context and its morphology (Shevoroshkin 1994a:138, Melchert (DLL:88), Neumann 2007a:431, Kloekhorst 2011a:17 n. 21, Neumann 2012a:403). Shevoroshkin 1994a:138, 149 compares Lyc. zãnaza- with the Hittite personal name mZannanza, son of Šuppiluliuma I. (Laroche 1966b:209). However, this comparison does not help to explain the word any further.
