Hajnal 1995b:24 n. 31, Hajnal 1998a:86 segments biδślemsa of E.Ab 30 as biδślem sa, i.e. a demonstrative pronoun sa with biδślem, what he interprets as a compound substantive from biδ- <*piyennā̆tā- ‘Gabe’ and a participle ślem ‘Ehrung’ (see s.v.). Setting aside the segmentation of sa, which is not impossible, but does not illuminate the text (cf. s.v.), the proposed analysis of *biδślem is completely ad hoc (contra Hajnal, the Lycian A compound hlm͂mipijata- ‘income-gift’ [see s.v.] has a different morphology and thus, it does not prove anything) and can even be excluded due to its irregular initial [b], since initial *p does not yield [b] in Carian (cf. also Adiego 2007a:350: “function and meaning unknown”).
