1.1.3Meaning ‘prophet of Amun or personal name’

On formal grounds the word seems to be of Egyptian origin and Vittmann 2001a:46‒48 (with phonological and morphological discussion) identified it with Egyptian p3 ḥm-ntr n Jmn ‘the prophet of Amun’, which was used both as a title and a personal name. This is exactly the problem, since the context is ambiguous, both options are grammatically possible. Adiego 2007a:400 prefers a personal name, but books also the possibility of a title with a question mark.
