1.1.3Graphic Features
Checked against the photograph in the Konkordanz. A reading of a genitival adjective as ma-a-˹ú-wa˺-al-la-aš-ša in KUB 35.133 iii 14 is proposed in Starke 1985b:281, followed in CLL:145, while ma-a-˹ḫu-wa˺-al-la-aš-ša is considered less likely. However, a comparison with other attestations of 〈ú〉 on the same tablet shows that reading 〈ú〉 here is virtually excluded, since no trace of the second initial horizontal wedge can be detected, although it should visible.

1.1.4Meaning
The adjective modifies ANŠE.KUR.RA ‘horse, chariotry’. Assuming with DLL:70 and van Brock 1962a:112 that mawalla/i- is a derivative of mawa/i- ‘four’, the unified phrase should mean ‘four-span, quadriga’ or the like in the context of instructions given by king Muwatalli to his son (rather than ‘de quatre ans’, which was suggested by van Brock as an alternative interpretation).

1.1.5Stem
In spite of its scarce attestation, the use of the suffix -alla/i- in mawallin leaves no doubt about its classification as an adjectival -a/i- stem.
