1.1.2Forms
| nom.-acc. pl. n. | ma-aš-ša-ni-ia | KUB 25.37 ii 20’ | (CTH 771, NS) |
Genitival adjective:
| acc. sg. c. | ma-aš-ša-ni-ia-aš-ši‹-in› | KUB 25.37 iii 33’ | (CTH 771, NS) |
| [ma-aš-ša-ni-]˹ia˺-aš-ši-in | KUB 25.37 i 14’ | (CTH 771, NS |
The attestations follow CLL:144 (cf. also Laroche 1959a:69) checked against the photographs of the Mainzer Photoarchiv. The restoration in KUB 25.37 i 14’ and the emendation in KUB 25.37 iii 33’ follow Starke 1985b:343 n. 185, 348 and are based on a textual parallelism, thus accepted also by CLL:144.

1.1.3Meaning ‘divine’
Although Laroche 1959a:69 did not yet separate this word from its base, maššaniya- is clearly a derivative of maššan(i)- ‘god’ via the -iya- appurtenance suffix and thus, its meaning is clearly ‘divine’ (CLL:144; Tischler 2008a:114, Tischler 2016a:216; but without meaning in Ünal 2016a:964), even if it cannot be corroborated by the opaque or fragmentary contexts.
